Backend Developer — Python / FastAPI

About the role

You would design and build the services behind a product: HTTP APIs, the data they store, and enough operational practice to tell when they fail. The usual stack is Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL, deployed on cloud infrastructure the team can operate.

What you'll do

• Design FastAPI endpoints with explicit request, response, and error shapes
• Model data in PostgreSQL and write migrations that are safe to deploy
• Add validation, authentication, and logging a teammate can use when a request fails
• Agree the API with the people building the UI before the shape is locked in
• Help deploy the service and read production logs when something breaks

What you bring

• You have shipped Python services that other people depend on
• You have built APIs with FastAPI, Django, or Flask, and can work in FastAPI here
• You can design a PostgreSQL schema and explain the indexes you would add
• You keep secrets out of the repository and know where authentication belongs
• You have deployed a service to a cloud provider, with the team on the parts that are new

Bonus, not required

• Background workers or a queue in production
• OpenAPI and a generated client
• A service you have operated under real traffic
