This is not an open vacancy. Registering interest does not start a hiring process. We keep the note and write if the role opens.
About the role
You would take a defined slice of a product — a screen, the endpoint behind it, and the data it needs — and carry it through to production. You are not expected to set the architecture for an engagement. You are expected to follow the patterns already in the codebase and ask when a requirement is unclear.
What you'll do
- Build a feature across the interface and the API, inside an existing codebase
- Use the stack already chosen, usually TypeScript, React or Next.js, and PostgreSQL
- Add tests for the behavior you change
- Flag an unclear requirement before writing the wrong thing, and write down what you decided
- Fix bugs in code you did not write, and leave a note on the cause
What you bring
- 2+ years building web applications that reached production
- Comfortable in a React UI and on a server backed by a relational database
- You can follow an existing code style and extend it
- You use Git and pull requests as a normal part of the work
- You say when you are blocked, rather than disappearing into the task
Bonus, not required
- Next.js on a project you can describe
- Work delivered from a design or a written spec
- Enough contact with auth or billing to use those systems, not to own them
