About the role
You would work in a production codebase next to engineers who have shipped this kind of product before. Tasks are scoped. You are expected to learn the code, make careful changes, and get more useful over time. You would not own an engagement.
What you'll do
- Pick up well-defined tasks and implement them in the existing code
- Write a test for the behavior you add or fix
- Ask when a task is bigger than it looked, before the pull request gets large
- Read review comments and change the code accordingly
- Pair with a more experienced engineer when the problem calls for it
What you bring
- You have finished something that runs: a project, an internship, a contribution, or a course project with a real interface or API
- You can write JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python
- You can read a file someone else wrote and extend it in the same style
- You can open a pull request and respond to comments on it
- You can be in Kosovo for hybrid days in Prishtina
Bonus, not required
- A repository you can walk through
- A first encounter with a relational database
- Tests you wrote because the change needed them
